This article discusses a documentation error in the Office Customization Tool (OCT) in the 2007 Microsoft Office system. Text is missing in the description of the Enable Customer Experience Improvement Program setting in the OCT.

To view the description of the Enable Customer Experience Improvement Program setting, follow these steps:
1.Start the OCT. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, click Run, type the following line in the Open box, and then click OK:
Path\setup.exe /admin
Note Path is the path of the 2007 Office system installation source.
b. In the Select Product dialog box, click OK.
2.Under Features, click Modify user settings.
3.Expand Microsoft Office 2007 system, expand Privacy, and then click Trust Center.
4.Click Enable Customer Experience Improvement Program.
The description is displayed in the box at the bottom of the OCT program window. The last sentence of the description is truncated. The description appears as follows:
You are participating in the Office Customer Experience Improvement Program. Data is collected anonymously and is used to improve Microsoft Office. This feature does not collect your name, address, or any other contact information except the IP address used to send you the file. The feature is controlled by the user through the application options dialog box. However, it can be disabled by group policy.

Note: Each user will be shown an Opt-in Wizard on first run. The Opt-in Wizard will provide choices to the user to opt into services such as Microsoft Update, Customer Experience Improvement Program, Office Diagnostics (Automatically receive small updates to improve reliability) and Online Help (Online content options) that will help improve their Office experience. To turn off the Opt-in Wizard on first run you will need to turn off or disable all of the individual options. To disable the Microsoft Update option you will need to use the Group Policy Object Editor (Gpedit.msc). The corresponding policy is
