Discusses a problem in multiplayer games where you are disconnected from games or you receive an error message after you select a character from a saved game.


When you try to play a multiplayer game of Microsoft Dungeon Siege 1.0 or of Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna, you may experience one of the following symptoms:
When you try to start the game, you receive an error message that is similar to the following:
You have not selected a character
When you host a game, new players who join the game are disconnected when they select a character.
When you join a game, you are disconnected after you select a character.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if your character is from a saved game that has become corrupted.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
1.Quit Microsoft Dungeon Siege.
2.Locate and then open one of the following folders:
My Documents\Dungeon Siege\Save
My Documents\Dungeon Siege LOA\Save
3.Delete the *.dsparty files.
4.Start Dungeon Siege, and then join a multiplayer game.
5.Use the most recently saved game to pull in the character, progressively going back until the character can be brought into the game without receiving the error message or getting disconnected. Make a note of the file name.
6.After the game is over, delete the saved games that the character could not be used from.
