This article describes the SharePoint Portal Server 2001 issue that is fixed in the SharePoint Portal Server 2001 hotfix package that is dated November 2, 2004.
Issues that the hotfix package fixes
This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
Values of custom properties of documents are not updated when you connect to the document library by using a Web browser after you install Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Service Pack 3 (SP3) on the server
You create a document profile, add a custom property to the document profile, and then apply the document profile to a document in a document library. You connect to the document library in a Web browser, check out the document, modify the value of the custom property, and then check in the document. When you view the document, the value of the custom property is not updated as you expect. The value of the custom property still uses the value that was set before you checked out the document.
You experience these symptoms only when you connect to the document library by using a Web browser. You do not experience these symptoms when you connect to the document library by using Web folders. |
