Consider the following scenario. You install Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006. In BizTalk Server 2006, you use the FTP adapter to retrieve files from an IBM AIX-based FTP server. The AIX-based FTP server is configured to use local settings other than "en-us."
In this scenario, the FTP adapter in BizTalk Server 2006 may not transfer files from the AIX-based FTP server as expected.
When you use the FTP adapter to retrieve files from an IBM AIX-based FTP server, the FTP adapter sends the LIST command to the AIX-based FTP server. The problem that is described in the "Symptoms" section occurs because the FTP adapter does not correctly parse the response that the FTP adapter receives from the AIX-based FTP server. Therefore, the FTP adapter uses an incorrect file name when the FTP adapter sends the RETR command to the AIX-based FTP server.

File information
The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the
Time Zone tab in the
Date and Time item in Control Panel.
| File name | File version | File size | Date | Time |
|---|
| Microsoft.biztalk.coreadapter.dll | 3.5.1654.0 | 99,720 | 03-Feb-2007 | 04:58 |
Note Because of file dependencies, the most recent hotfix that contains these files may contain additional files.
To work around this problem, configure the AIX-based FTP server to use "en-us" local settings. When you configure the AIX-based FTP server to use "en-us" local settings, the date format is
MMM DD HH:SS.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
Note The hotfix that is described in this article does not support transferring a file from an AIX-based FTP server if the file name contains a space. If the file name contains a space, the FTP adapter in BizTalk Server 2006 cannot transfer the file from the AIX-based FTP server. This problem is scheduled to be fixed in the next BizTalk Server release.
