A LAN.

You can use Microsoft Dynamics CRM SPE together with a configuration in which you access Microsoft Dynamics CRM on the Internet without using a VPN connection.
Notes
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 SPE is designed for a user who wants to access Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 from Internet sites. For more information, visit the following Microsoft Dynamics Web site:
https://members.microsoft.com/serviceproviders/webhosting/hostedmessaging/default.mspx (https://members.microsoft.com/serviceproviders/webhosting/hostedmessaging/default.mspx)
The Chinese version and the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 SPE are unavailable. Therefore, if you use the Chinese version or the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you have to use Microsoft Dynamics CRM PE or Microsoft Dynamics CRM SBE.
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 PE and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 SBE use Kerberos authentication. If the user is not connected to the LAN, Kerberos authentication does not work unless you use a VPN connection to access Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
